Link Worker – Moving Forward Newcastle
Salary: £16,665 – £19,190 per annum
Contract: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Link Worker.
As a key member of the Moving Forward Newcastle team, you will be passionate about helping people who have experienced mental health barriers to get back on their feet. Our main aims are to help people to:
- Rediscover their self-confidence
- Learn new skills, or rediscover old interests
- Build a stronger social network and have more people to spend time with
- Get back into education or training
- Find paid or voluntary work
This exciting service based in South Newcastle provides innovative, recovery focussed support to people with mental health problems. It helps people develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to access community resources, develop lasting friendships and to re-enter education and work. It aims to help people with mental health needs build on existing skills and abilities by providing opportunities for education, training and work through promoting empowerment and peer support.
Mental Health Concern is a leading NHS and Local Authority commissioned charity that provides a wide range of specialist mental health services, supporting people with mental health problems to live valued lives. As part of the Concern Group, we are primarily based in the North East of England and employ over 275 staff. Established for over 30 years, we are proud to be one of the largest non-statutory providers of mental health services in England.

Whilst previous work experience in this area is not essential, you must be keen, able to motivate/inspire others and have an up to date awareness of how mental health issues can affect adults. Group facilitation skills and/or experience are essential to this role. Applications from people who have used mental health services are encouraged.
